Summer Activity Camps for Kids

The purpose of a summer camp can vary a lot, from giving a fun time to children and allowing them to interact and network with others of their age and also to teach them something that would be handy in the years to come. Summer camps are also meant to be a lot of fun, a time when kids, away from the rules and discipline they are used to at school and at home, can have a blast outside the 4 walls, something that they love doing so much, but are prevented from doing usually.

As far as fun games are concerned there are a lot of ideas for fun activities in summer camps. While some focus on giving the kids something to think about, other summer camps have activities to teach a team spirit within them and learn how to play in a team and for the other team members.

Characteristic traits have often been polished in such camps and habits and lessons picked up in such camps often stay with the kids for the rest of their lives.

A very good example of a team activity that is played at camps is the blanket ball. In this game, the kids are divided into two groups of equal number. Each group is asked to hold a blanket and toss a ball with it to the other group which will try to catch the ball with the blanket and then toss it back. The team with maximum number of catches will win the game. This is a thoroughly team event where the team should know how to act and move together.

There is another game where team players have their one leg tied to each other and have to race or do some activity.

Activities like these when played during summer camps, are very helpful for kids to learn the importance of cooperating and collaborating with others.

Along with all the fun and games many summer and activity camps for kids continue teaching your children throughout the holidays, keeping their brains active. This however is done by the kids interacting. For example nature trails will expand their knowledge in a fun and active way- your child won't even realise they're still learning!
